Introduction to Risk Management Course
This entry-level course focuses on the three processes that comprise Risk Management: risk assessment, risk mitigation, and ongoing evaluation. The course starts with a thorough review of the nine-step risk assessment process identified by NIST. Instruction then follows with a detailed presentation of the seven-step risk mitigation process which focuses on the selection, placement, and cost-benefit analysis of security controls to reduce risk. The ongoing evaluation lesson emphasizes IT security activities that are performed to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information and information assets.
Who Should Attend?
- Management, IT, and security personnel who are new to IT security and want to gain a fundamental understanding of risk management
