| CPIAC supports DDR&E assessment of U.S. solid rocket motor industrial base

The Office of the Director of Defense Research and Engineering (DDR&E) tasked the Chemical Propulsion Information Analysis Center (CPIAC) to support the assessment of the solid rocket motor industrial base for a report to be given by the Secretary of Defense to the congressional defense committees. DDR&E used the information that CPIAC collected to determine whether industry in the United States has maintained the capability to support current intercontinental ballistic missiles through its planned operational life in addition to all other space launch, missile defense, and other large vehicles with solid rocket motors. |

CPIAC Supplies Critical Expertise in Support of a Government Survey of U.S. Test Facilities Capable of Testing Insensitive Munitions

A U.S. Government team, consisting of Department of Defense (DoD) and industry members, was formed to conduct site surveys of U.S. Insensitive Munitions (IM) Testing Facilities. The Chemical Propulsion Information Analysis Center (CPIAC) was engaged to enable an efficient team effort by identifying a starting point for the study team’s efforts that resulted from CPIAC’s unique position in the insensitive munitions testing community.
